THE BANYAN
The sun shines on his face ,
to desiccate those tiny drops;
fresh and cool from heaven,
that god sends at twilight.
Rest with peace,
he stumbles benevolently;
upon the warm shoulder of her’s,
which curtails his irrevocable flight.
Caught amidst a virtual curiosity,
he steps beneath the Murphy’s Law;
dragging himself towards its amicable subtlety,
without an ever lasting plight.
Called as the tree of wishes,
there she stands soaked, the primeval banyan tree;
breathing alive for a million years,
with trespassers showing their might.
Merciless creatures are they,
axe in their hands, he thought;
Plundering her exotic branches,
to hasten their economy from fright.
She stands erectly,
for him to save her from their clutches;
as she is a small excerpt of mother nature,
who houses the mass of deprived;
allowing the twigs to support her weight.
